Fantastic production experience!

I just had my first small-batch apparel production run with Portland Apparel Lab, and wow, what an amazing experience! Their team helped me with everything from technical sketches to cut and sew. The quality of the finished garments is superb, truly exceeded my expectations. I was a bit nervous about starting this process, but they made it so smooth and easy. I'm definitely bringing all my future projects here. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch manufacturing!

Consistent quality for my brand

I've been using Portland Apparel Lab for my streetwear manufacturing for over a year now. This last order, for athletic wear production, was just as good as the previous ones. They're reliable and the quality of their garment construction is consistently high. I appreciate that I can always count on them for timely delivery; this batch took about 4 weeks, which is standard for them. It's why I keep coming back for all my production needs. They understand my brand's requirements.

Great value on first order

As a first-time buyer, I was really looking for the best deal. I got the introductory consultation discount, which saved me a bit on getting started. The fashion design consulting I received was worth it. They helped me refine my ideas and understand the next steps without breaking the bank. It felt like a solid investment for my brand. The overall experience felt like good value for the money, especially with the initial saving. Happy with what I paid for the advice.

Thinking of trying out Portland Apparel Lab for my new streetwear line. Anyone used them for small runs? How's the quality vs. say, Indie Source?

B Ben 1 month ago
I used them for some hoodies last year, really good quality, way better than a factory I tried before. Indie Source is bigger, right? PAL felt more hands-on.

Yeah, PAL is more specialized for smaller brands. If you're doing streetwear, their cut and sew is top-notch. I've heard Indie Source can be a bit more corporate, maybe less flexible for unique designs.

How long does it typically take to get a sample done from them? Trying to plan my launch timeline and need an idea.

N Nina Bennett 1 month ago
It really depends on how complex your design is and how many revisions you need, but my first sample usually took a few weeks. Communication was good though, so I always knew what was happening.

The sampling process can vary a lot, but they're pretty clear about timelines after you give them your specs. Definitely not an overnight thing but they're efficient.

Does Portland Apparel Lab ship finished garments anywhere in the US? I'm in Miami and worried about logistics.

A Alex 1 month ago
Yep, they ship nationwide. I'm in New York and had no issues getting my samples and then the final run delivered.

They definitely ship all over. You'd just factor that into your timeline and costs obviously, but they handle it.

What's the deal with their minimum order quantity? Trying to launch a small collection and don't want to commit to hundreds of pieces right away.

J Julia 1 month ago
They're good for small batch stuff, that's kinda their thing. You can start with low numbers to test the waters, I didn't feel pressured to order a huge amount.

I think they really cater to startups so MOQs are usually pretty manageable. You'd have to ask for specific numbers for your project though, it varies.

Hey, thinking of taking one of their workshops. Do they ever have discount codes for those? Or is it pretty much full price always?

M Mike 1 month ago
I got a code for a workshop once, it was like 10% off. It's not super common but keep an eye out, usually around certain times of year or for new client intros.

They're pretty rare, I think they mostly do custom quotes for manufacturing. But for workshops, sometimes, especially if it's a new offering or something.
